i happen to love greenland. if i had done any research on iceland, i’d probably fall in love with that country, too, because i bet the people might be just as awesome. that photo alone makes it look like the best place on earth.

btw, i heard the same exact thing from a school teacher, but according to this (one randomly googled internet source, with extensive verbiage, that makes their dispute look legit) http://bit.ly/greenice the whole switching names thing most likely isn’t actually true.

as for my love for greenland… a few years back i met a slew of musicians from greenland at an online music community, and i fell in love with just how unusual and awesome all of their music sounded. the site no longer exists and all the music disappeared with it. most of the artists were just random people no one has ever heard of, and i have yet to find them online again.

the sound of one of my favorite musicians (it’s easiest for me to explain it visually) was like a mixture of things… massive purple mountains with snowy peaks, the circus (specifically: clowns, elephants, & rebellious lions), standing in a small clearing in a silent forest while watching snow flakes landing on eyelashes, gorillas, cute baby hedgehogs, thom yorke, and a viking running at you raising up a bloody club he stole from a caveman.

hopefully i’ll find my favorite greenland musicians online again someday!
