one day last year in march (after first watching criminal minds) i decided to look up matthew gray gubler on wikipedia to find out when his birthday was. this is not uncommon. i eventually find out every birthday of every person i come across.
upon seeing he was also a pisces i decided to click the link to his website. (even though i feared the worst.. i had picked up that he modeled, while scrolling down the wiki for his link, and worried it could quite possibly be full of vain looking images of himself trying to look awesome, which would just make me depressingly want to vomit.) i’m so glad i did because i entered a wonderful mystical world called GUBLERLAND!
i happen to think mr. gubler is practically a male version of me. although, i am not the female version of him. there are definitely differences.. for instance, i’m pretty anti-social and i’m much more uptight (i do not dance). and although i’m possibly even more passionate, enthusiastic, & cheerful, i wouldn’t say i’m “friendly” or openly social to just anyone. granted, what i’ve come to assume i know of him is really only seen through twitter.
but he’s the closest i’ve ever come to finding anyone in the slightest bit like me. i cant quite put my finger on what it is. he seems to like all the things that i like, dislike the things i dislike, behave with the same thoughtfulness, kindness, creativity, and work ethic that i do, and carry the same outlook of life in our universe. as well, oddly just happens to also wear unmatching socks, has admittedly never used drugs or smoked, and loves all of my favorite films.
my sister made a rude comment, something like she’d be willing to kill herself if he and i were anything alike, and that i’m a fucking dork, and fucking stupid. that’s probably why she thinks we’re nothing alike… she’s too much of an asshole to really see who i am. i don’t share myself with assholes. lots of people surely think i’m boring and bland, but that’s too bad for them.
so, in conclusion, i love gubler’s art and gublerland. i hope someday to have a home filled with at least one of his lovely original creations. (i like to imagine mr. gubler and mr. (john) waters as my next door neighbors.)
